1. What this capability does
Organize evidence on erosion, degradation and ecosystem pressures for territorial assessments with an explicitly defined scope.
2. Why it is needed
Similar pressures can have different consequences depending on terrain, soil, land use and existing protective measures.
3. Which decisions it can support
Identify areas needing further investigation before planning measures to protect soils and agricultural ecosystems.
4. Which data are available
The registry identifies global erosion models and national geospatial sources without connecting them to a combined operational module.
5. Which data are still needed
Verified terrain, dated vegetation cover, farming practices, usable boundaries and field checks are required for assessment.
6. Who can provide the data
IPOT, geospatial and environmental authorities can complement Copernicus products and results from research institutions.
7. Methods and scientific limitations
Each hazard requires an appropriate model, compatible resolution and local validation, with uncertainty reported separately.
8. Which outputs it can produce
Planned hazard profiles will identify factors, covered areas, gaps and evidence required for further verification.
9. Readiness and conditions of use
The module is in development; inventoried sources do not constitute a validated map or combined risk score.
Sources and access conditions
Links identify the sources. Source accessibility does not prove integration; official observations, estimates and forecasts must remain distinct. Source titles and metadata are shown as documented.
Moldova soil mapping portal; coverage completeness not established
Availability
RESEARCH_CANDIDATE — source discovery only; not a connection to this public service.
Limitations
Map class/bonitation is not an up-to-date laboratory result. Map scale is not numeric raster resolution or accuracy. Latest catalogue dates are not measurement dates; verify the source terms and observation coverage before reuse.
National and local geospatial collections; layer-specific coverage
Availability
RESEARCH_CANDIDATE — source discovery only; not a connection to this public service.
Limitations
Orthophoto vintages and elevation datum must be preserved per tile/layer. Latest catalogue dates are not measurement dates; verify the source terms and observation coverage before reuse.
Global grid including Moldova; all ADM1 summaries require boundary overlay and a completeness test.
Availability
REQUIRES_PERMISSION — source discovery only; not a connection to this public service.
Limitations
Modelled soil displacement from water erosion; not measured erosion or all degradation mechanisms. 2019 cropland mask and2070 RCP scenarios; not current2026 damage.
Limitations
DSM is not bare-earth terrain; derive slope carefully and validate vertical datum. Static elevation cannot establish current infrastructure or legal boundaries. Latest catalogue dates are not measurement dates; verify the source terms and observation coverage before reuse.
Download the public catalogue with dated statuses, descriptions and sources. The SHA-256 digest identifies the exact file displayed; it does not scientifically validate the data.
