1. What this capability does
Structure seed, fertilizer, crop-protection, fuel and field-operation costs for documented comparisons of production economics.
2. Why it is needed
Costs depend on quantities, periods, technologies and contracts, so national averages do not describe every farm.
3. Which decisions it can support
Identify major expenditure categories and required evidence before comparing alternative approaches to agricultural production.
4. Which data are available
BNS publishes small-producer cost information and ANRE publishes regulated prices, without integration into this module.
5. Which data are still needed
Actual quantities, invoices, periods, currency, taxes, areas and consistent rules for allocating production costs are required.
6. Who can provide the data
BNS, ANRE, suppliers and farms can provide statistical context and commercial records authorized for analysis.
7. Methods and scientific limitations
The proposed calculation separates prices from quantities and fixed from variable costs, retaining units and reference periods.
8. Which outputs it can produce
Planned outputs include crop and area budgets with assumptions, source evidence and sensitivity to changing prices.
9. Readiness and conditions of use
The module is in development; farm costs and profitability are not automatically calculated from public averages.
Sources and access conditions
Links identify the sources. Source accessibility does not prove integration; official observations, estimates and forecasts must remain distinct. Source titles and metadata are shown as documented.

Availability
ACCESSIBLE_NOT_CONNECTED — source discovery only; not a connection to this public service.
Limitations
Sample estimates; cost structure is not a quote for inputs and does not give field-level margins. Latest catalogue dates are not measurement dates; verify the source terms and observation coverage before reuse.
National regulated price ceiling; separate station-price map; observation reference in the audited snapshot: 2026-10-13.
Availability
ACCESSIBLE_NOT_CONNECTED — source discovery only; not a connection to this public service.
Limitations
Regulatory ceiling differs from paid wholesale/retail price and does not encode fuel consumption. Latest catalogue dates are not measurement dates; verify the source terms and observation coverage before reuse.
RESEARCH_CANDIDATE — source discovery only; not a connection to this public service.
Limitations
Mineral nutrient equivalents (N, P2O5, K2O) differ from commercial fertilizer mass. National usage is not measured soil nutrient status. Latest catalogue dates are not measurement dates; verify the source terms and observation coverage before reuse.
